The Cabin...

It doesn't really matter if I am sending my daughter to Spain in days, or there is a national holiday in between, or even that days after I send my daughter to Spain we are moving to Texas.
If my sister wants to squeeze in one last visit, I am thrilled.
And if we need to go to the cabin one more time...then that is where we need to be.
 8 years of tradition.
Denny's on the way up to the cabin.
Kody when two spotted the sign and shouted from the backseat for it.
Shocked, laughing, and hungry we obliged.
Every trip since, we are there.
The park by the grocery store in Renova is a past time from my childhood.
Climbing on the metal igloo, seesaw, swings, and tanks...it was the break away from the cabin as a small kid and continues to be for my kids.
No visit is complete without a stop on Hyner View.
Walking out to the hang glider platform for a view and pictures makes life complete.
Man I love my sister.
I love the many memories of our family cabin.
Traditions really are the what make families.

Cabin Trip and Fall Leaves

The cabin is my sanctuary.  I remember going with my family when I was younger.  My dad would lay on the bottom bunk whenever he could and just read in a somewhat darkened cabin.  I would wonder how he could do "nothing" for so long.  Now that I am an adult, I love to do the same thing.  Sure I play with my kids, take some hikes, look for Elk, go to Hyner view, etc...but I do just enough so that I can spend the bulk of my time laying in bed reading.  It's the best place to be without cell service, land lines, internet.  Oh how I love it!

Selfies

Yeah, I exist.  Usually behind the camera.
But I'm not afraid of a little "selfie" action.
Especially if it helps me preserve these memories with my family and loved ones.

Mustard

Well the rest of September was packed with good times...
Going to the cabin and watching hang gliders,

Wyatt catching butterflies and teaching the others to do it too,
Travis amazing us with one handed pull ups,
snuggle time,
going to the drive-in theater,
playing on the trampoline in the rain,
riding the Strasburg railroad,
visiting Cherry Crest Adventure Farms,
Wyatt participating in the Raingutter Regata,
and a middle of the night ER trip for Croup.

More pictures of all these awesome events on Facebook.
